Lately, I’ve been wearing my Kate Spade Ava Reversible Tote to work. I love that it’s reversible, it’s like having a two-in-one bag. The lighter, taupe side is perfect for summer. Meanwhile, the black side is suitable for dark winter days. Not to mention, the bag is large enough to carry my everyday essentials. Wallet
Along with my tote bag, I carry my Tory Burch Robinson mini wallet to work.
The wallet may be mini, but it has enough slots to store my ID, credit cards, insurance cards, cash, and coins. That way, I can carry everything I need and still have both hands available.
Keys
Next, I need my house keys and car keys.
Just like my wallet, my house keys and car keys are everyday essentials. I literally can’t get around without them.
AirPods
Then, my AirPods are essential for getting me through the workday.
Without my AirPods, I wouldn’t be able to focus or get any work done. I’d also have trouble taking calls from clients or vendors.
And if you’re wondering what I listen to, it’s usually daily news or EDM to get me into work mode.
Hair Clip
I also carry a hair clip with me, just in case.
Throughout the day, my hair will fall into my face. So I make sure I always have a hair tie or clip to pull my hair back.
It’s also saved me from some bad hair days.
Sunglasses
Also, I pack my sunglasses in my late summer work bag.
I live in California, where the sun is almost always shining. Whether I’m driving or taking a walk, I need my sunglasses to shield my eyes from the brightness.
I keep a pair of the Quay Australia x Benefit Cosmetics “Shook” sunglasses in my purse because they’re cute and match the rest of my aesthetics. Unfortunately, the sunglasses were limited edition and have been sold out. But I found a similar pair on Nordstrom Rack.
Planner
Then, I pack my planner in my purse.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that keeping a paper planner helps me be productive. Although I am moving towards a fully digital planner, having a physical one makes it easier to remember important dates and appointments.
Currently, I am using the Sugar Paper planner found at Target.
Markers and Pens
I also pack my personal markers and pens because I’m very specific about the pens I use.
Some of my favorites are the Zebra Mildliners, Staedtler Triplus Fineliners, and Pilot G2 pens.
Depending on the color and density of each pen, I use them for different purposes. For example, I use the Pilot G2 pens specifically for writing. I’ll use the Zebra Mildliners for highlighting and color-coding my planner.
Makeup and Toiletries
Another must-have is a bag for my makeup and toiletries.
Lip balm and oil blotting sheets are essential for my mid-day touch-up. I also pack items like a hairbrush and lint roller to polish up my outfit before going into a meeting.
And of course, I pack some pads and painkillers when that time of the month unexpectedly starts.
It may seem like a lot to carry, but I’ve learned that it’s best to always be prepared.
Reusable Water Bottle
Next, I always have to carry a reusable water bottle with me.
I fill it up with ice and water before leaving the house. This helps me stay hydrated throughout the day.
