Hi everyone! I probably say this every month but May seriously flew by. Where did the time go?! This month has been full of celebrations from birthdays, to anniversaries, and to graduations. Including my own birthday and graduation! There were also plenty of much-anticipated movie releases this month. So before I spoil this entire post, here are my May 2016 favorites!
Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask

A while ago, I received a free sample of the Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask to review. The Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask is made from all-natural ingredients and is suitable for all skin types. I have combination acne-prone skin but my face feels softer, cleaner, tighter, and refreshed after I use this face mask. The only thing I didn’t like was the smell but I’ll get over it. As I said, it’s suitable for all skin types and I think it’s worth trying.

Captain America: Civil War
The long-awaited third installment of Captain America came out this month! And it’s some of my favorite Avengers fighting each other… All because of Bucky Barnes. I don’t care what people say, it definitely lived up to the hype. The entire film was full of action, there’s a plot twist, and you can’t beat a stellar star-packed cast, including Stan Lee’s expected cameo. Plus, I couldn’t stop swooning every time Steve Rogers was on the screen.
Benaddiction

My friend Amy and I met up for brunch a few weeks ago. I wanted brunch and she wanted to try a local place called Benaddiction. My first time trying Benaddiction was a few years ago when all they had was a food truck and no actual location. At that time, you could only track where their food truck was by following them on Twitter. But I’m glad they opened an actual location. They’re open from 7 am to 3 pm every day and serve all your favorite breakfast and brunch staples. I got the Alive Benaddict, which is an “English Muffin topped with Crimini Mushrooms, Peppers, Onions, Avocado, Tomato, Fried Eggs, and Hollandaise Sauce.” I love breakfast foods so much, I got my sister to get some last week. I’ll definitely be going there more often!
Birthday & Graduation Celebrations

This month was full of birthdays, anniversaries, and graduation celebrations. My family and I always joke about how we go broke during the month of May… Because it’s true. There’s my mom’s birthday, my little cousin’s birthday, my birthday, my grandma’s birthday, my sister’s birthday, my graduation, and my parents’ anniversary. All in the month of May! My wallet and my liver are still recovering from the damage done. But it’s all in good fun! I love my family and I’m so grateful for them.

X-Men: Apocalypse
Another Marvel movie in the same month?! That’s how you know it’s summertime — all the blockbusters release. And my group of friends always attend movie premiers; it’s just something we’ve been doing for years now. I went in not knowing what to expect but X-Men: Apocalypse did not fail to entertain and keep me on the edge of my seat. As a true 90s kid, I grew up watching the X-Men cartoons and I got to relive my childhood by watching their origin story come to life onscreen. I’m also a history nerd so it was really neat to see that the villain, Apocalypse, was a self-proclaimed god from Ancient Egypt. Just like Captain America: Civil War, this film was full of action and the graphics were incredible. It’s amazing what filmmakers can do and I can’t wait to see what Marvel does next.
So those were my May 2016 favorites! It included the Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask, Captain America: Civil War, a local brunch spot called Benaddiction, X-Men: Apocalypse, and tons of birthdays and anniversary celebrations.

I actually liked the smell of the clay mask better than the Ultra Plumping mask, but I agree it’s a bit strong and works great for me too. Happy belated birthday!
