This last week and a half, my hometown’s county fair took place. I live in a relatively small California town that’s continuing to grow. And every year, the county fair is a big event for us. For some reason I can’t remember, I didn’t go to the fair last year. This year, I went with a bunch of my friends on $2 Tuesday. Yes, it admission was just $2. It was the most fun I’ve had in a while. We drank, ate, looked at some art, and went on so many rides. I already can’t wait to go back next year! Keep on scrolling to see my fun times at the Big Fresno Fair with friends.
Fun Times at the Big Fresno Fair with Friends

But first, fair food.

First of all, the most anticipated part about the fair is all the food. And I’m talking deep-fried everything.
This year features a new creation called the Krispy Kreme burger. Basically, it’s made of three burger patties and two slices of cheese stacked between two Krispy Kreme original glazed donuts. I call it a triple bypass. One of my friends wanted to try the Krispy Kreme burger so we got it for him.
Additionally, we all shared some carne asada curly fries. And they’re exactly what they sound like. It’s your traditional curly fries topped with carne asada, nacho cheese, and jalapeΓ±os.
Don’t forget the beer.

On top of the fried food, you have to enjoy a beer at the county fair.
My friends and I all got wristbands for alcohol. Throughout the night, we took turns buying rounds of Blue Moon. Unfortunately, fried food and beer didn’t settle well when I went on the carnival rides. But I still had fun!
Onto the art gallery.

Another fun thing about the Big Fresno Fair is the art gallery.
The gallery features the art of all mediums from local artists. Some of them are even students from surrounding schools. A lot of the artwork paid homage to my hometown of Fresno. Others were tributes to the artists’ favorite movies, TV shows, or sports teams.
Come one, come all onto carnival rides!

And finally, it’s not really a trip to the county fair unless you go on some carnival rides.
Since it only cost each of us $2 to get in, my friend and her boyfriend treated all of us to wristbands for unlimited rides. After walking around and eating our weight in food, my friends and I finally decided to get on some rides. Surprisingly, the fairgrounds were empty for a Tuesday night. The lines were short and we got on the rides right away. However, I went on too many spinning rides to count.Β We stayed until the fair closed and went back to my friend’s house. It was definitely a fun time!
Other things to do at the Big Fresno Fair with friends

Although we ate, drank, and went on carnival rides, there’s so much more you can do at the Big Fresno Fair with friends. During the daytime, there’s horse racing. And at night, there are concerts you can attend. There’s also free entertainment, museums, and a marketplace where local vendors sell their goods. No matter how old you are or what you’re interested in, there’s something for you at the Big Fresno Fair.

Looks like you had a fun time! We have a State Fair where I’m at, but it’s pretty much the same thing– food, rides, games, and expos. The food is the best part! I always intend on going on the rides, but I end up getting way too full. haha
