September 2017 Favorites

Hi everyone! Let me start off by saying how excited I am that September is finally over. It’s been a very long and stressful month for me. I went two and a half weeks without my car because some parts needed to be replaced. The parts and labor altogether costed $1,500. All while I was without my car, the supply line to my toilet broke and flooded the entire second floor of my house. It was so bad, we had to strip all of the carpet. Those two events caused so much financial and emotional stress for me. But I’m glad they’re both finally over with. Now I can focus on the good things that happened this month, such as my September 2017 favorites. Keep reading to see what I was actually able to enjoy amidst the constant stress.

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte

September 2017 Favorites | Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte

I’m so basic, I get excited when Starbucks’s PSL returns every year. While most people prefer the PSL hot, I like mine iced with soy milk and no whipped cream. It’s usually my go-to autumn drink but my friend Laura recently told me about Starbucks’s Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte and I need to try it!

American Horror Story: Cult

Another one of my September 2017 favorites was the season premier of American Horror Story: Cult. I’ve been watching the show since season one and I can’t seem to stop! While this season initially comes off as politically themed, it also focuses on different phobias such as the fear of clowns and holes. These are two things that disturb me but I can’t stop watching to see this season’s plot unfold!

NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash

NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash | Product Review

I recently received complimentary samples of the NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash to test and review. I was impressed with the results and the cleanser easily became one of my September 2017 favorites. The NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash helped exfoliate my skin and made it much softer and smoother. I’ve also experienced less breakouts since using it. If you’re looking for an exfoliant, I would definitely recommend the NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash.

2017 Central California Women’s Conference

Every September, the company I work for sends us to the Central California Women’s Conference for a full day of seminars, networking, and female empowerment. This was my first year attending and I had a blast with my coworkers! We talked to different companies and organizations, learned how to better ourselves, and walked away with a bunch of freebies. I can’t wait to go again next year!

New Theme

A few weeks ago, I was browsing random themes on WordPress to see if there was anything new. I stumbled upon Veni by Themes Kingdom and instead of clicking “preview,” I accidentally clicked “activate.” So it changed my theme! Instead of trying to change it back to my original theme, I just stuck with it. I figured it was time for a change and I’m loving the look of it so far. Go take a look for yourself and let me know what you think!

  1. great picks! 🙂 I still haven’t tried the pumpkin spiced latte, literally only last year I tried pumpkin baked goods for the first time lol.
but that’s so awesome that your company sends you guys to a women’s conference for empowerment, that’s how you know the company is cool! lol

    1. Oh my goodness, you HAVE to try the pumpkin spiced latte! You should at least try it once. If you don’t like it, Starbucks has other seasonal drinks. My favorite is their peppermint mocha during Christmas time.

Have you ever had pumpkin pie? That’s my favorite during Thanksgiving and I think that’s what fueled my preference for anything pumpkin-flavored. Although I do think they’ve gone overboard lately with pumpkin spice everything.

Yes!! I’m so grateful that I work at a company that allows us to do cool things like attend conferences.

      1. lol that’s another drink I haven’t tried hahaha 🙈

Yes! Although at the moment my memory of pumpkin pie is hazy I think I remember liking it. If not, we will find out tomorrow because I bought one not that long ago lmao.

      2. Girl, you should go expand your horizons!

I don’t like whip cream but it tastes sooo good with pumpkin pie. You should definitely try it if you haven’t yet. And I guess pumpkin pie is an acquired taste. I’ve always grown up having it for Thanksgiving though haha the crust is my favorite part.

      3. I’ll definitely try them but I’m afraid I’ll get hooked! I’m not a Starbucks person LOL.
And I tried the pumpkin pie we bought yesterday and yes, I like it. But it does need whipped cream LOL. Ooooh yesss! Crust is the best! 😀

  2. I love pumpkin spice everything! haha One of my MOST favorite things from September was getting ready for the launch of a brand new ds company that offers premium coffee ( such as organic and fair trade) & will also offer organic tea and eventually cocoa too. Nothing better than getting a discount on my coffee. It’s the little things that make me happy!

    1. Right?! I just need to get pumpkin spice candles and I’m all set for fall!

What’s a ds company?! I love coffee and tea. I’d love to check it out. And you can never go wrong with discounts!

  3. The NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash sounds really good!
Your new theme looks great. I keep wanting to change my theme but I’m too chicken since all my photos are scaled for the current theme. 😛 Maybe I should accidentally click on “activate” too!
