Hi everyone! I’m back with my monthly favorites. July has been an incredibly insane month. A lot of change has happened lately and I’m still learning to balance between blogging, work, and life itself. Not to mention, the application cycle for grad school will be opening up again soon. I’ll be putting more time and effort into my grad school applications than anything else. But I digress… Let’s move on to my July 2017 favorites!
July 2017 Favorites
Gryffin & Illenium – Feel Good (Feat. Daya)
Like I said earlier, July was incredibly insane for me and a lot of change has occurred. There were moments where I didn’t feel like myself. I was falling behind at work, I couldn’t keep up with my blog or emails. All I wanted to do was disconnect. But listening to “Feel Good (Feat. Daya)” by Gryffin & Illenium always put me in a better mood. The song makes me feel good, for lack of better words.
I’ve already made it clear how much I love Marvel films. At first, I was a little weary about another Spider-Man reboot. Especially since he was my favorite superhero growing up. But Spider-Man: Homecoming definitely exceeded my expectations. The film had the same witty, sense of humor Spider-Man is known for. It was full of action and had an unexpected plot twist. No spoilers here, I promise!
I’m obsessed with poke and a new place called Butterfish recently opened up near my workplace. I love how they have special poke bowls you can choose from. But you can also customize your own bowl, which is what I do. What I love even more about Butterfish is that they have an app so you can order ahead! So if I’m at work and craving poke, I can order right before I leave the office. That way, I can skip the long line and still have time to enjoy my lunch.
Since the temperature has been in the triple digits here, I recently rediscovered my love for boba. Especially slush drinks. And for some strange reason, I’ve been really into mango and peach flavors lately. The sweet, tropical boba slush drinks definitely keep me cool during the summer.
I know I’m a couple of months late but I was recently introduced to Westworld. It’s a new HBO series directed by JJ Abrams. Based on the 1973 film of the same name (which was written and directed by Michael Crichton), Westworld is about a Wild West-themed amusement park. Wealthy visitors come to Westworld and interact with hosts, who are technically androids living in Westworld and each has their own backstory. The show stars familiar faces such as Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, and Anthony Hopkins. The plot takes a while to develop but once you finish the pilot episode, you’ll want to watch the next episode right away.
That’s it for my July 2017 favorites! I can’t wait to see what August has in store.
