April 2017 Favorites

Hey everyone! I can’t believe we’re already in May. It’s my favorite month because it’s my birth month!! My mom and sister were also born in May. On top of that, my parents’ anniversary is in May. So the month is full of fun festivities. But before we get too ahead of ourselves, let’s take a few steps back and reflect on April. Here are my April 2017 favorites!

Aquaphor Lip Repair

What's in My Bag -- Coachella Essentials Edition // Lip Balm

One of my April 2017 favorites was Aquaphor Lip Repair, which I listed in my Coachella 2017 essentials. Up until April, my skin and lips suffered from the harsh, dry winter. The Aquaphor Lip Repair contains nourishing vitamins, shea butter, and chamomile, which helped rejuvenate and hydrate my lips. My lips magically went from dry and cracked to soft, smooth, and kissable!

Harry Styles – Sign of the Times

On April 7, my favorite One Direction member blessed us with his debut solo single, “Sign of the Times.” When it comes to One Direction, I can’t contain my fangirl antics and all my friends know it. I talk about 1D so much, my friends know their names and were shocked to find out “Sign of the Times” was by Harry. I’m so proud of Harry and I’m excited to hear more music where he can truly express himself. But the fangirling doesn’t end here…

The Chainsmokers – Memories Do Not Open

April 2017 Favorites // The Chainsmokers - Memories... Do Not Open

On the same day Harry released his debut solo single, The Chainsmokers released their debut album, Memories… Do Not Open. I’ve been a fan of The Chainsmokers since they dropped “#SELFIEyears ago. But they recently hit radio waves last summer and I’m glad they finally released a full-length album. Although their style and sound have changed, MDNO is full of bops and I’ve had the album on repeat.

The xx: I See You Tour

April 2017 Favorites // The xx: I See You Tour

Another album I’ve had on repeat is I See You by The xx. Before I See You, the last album they released was in 2012. So it’s kind of a big deal. The British band coming back to North America for a tour is an even bigger deal. My friends and I had to see them no matter what. We were able to get tickets to their first San Francisco date. The xx are known for their slow, chill music but they are definitely more energetic and upbeat live. I enjoyed their performance so much, I saw them again a week later at Coachella.

Coachella 2017 Lookbook and Recap

The last of my April 2017 favorites is Coachella 2017. It was my first time at Coachella and it was definitely a much needed vacation. I camped out for four days, had no phone reception, and wandered off on my own most of the time. Despite the heat and dust, it was all worth it and I can’t wait to do it again! If you missed it, you can check out my Coachella 2017 lookbook and recap.

That’s it for my April 2017 favorites. I’m sure next month will be filled with more fun things. So stay tuned!

  1. I love Harry’s sound! It’s a little bit of folk and indie and it’s so different than 1D. I can’t wait to see him perform his songs live. And I can’t wait to hear the other guys’ music. They all have their own unique sound and that’s what makes them so great.

Yes, I’ve been listening to “Break Up Every Night” a lot lately. Honestly, almost all the songs on the album sound the same. But it’s so upbeat and makes me feel good, I can’t stop listening to it. I hope you enjoy it!
