Ed Sheeran – Divide
I know I recently listed Ed Sheeran in my January 2017 favorites but ever since his album dropped earlier this month, I’ve had it on repeat. Divide is different than his other albums. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. One song makes you happy and want to dance. The next song will move you to tears. And then the song after that will bring your mood back up. Divide is absolutely brilliant. I feel like Ed shows us more of where he came from and shares his family and life experiences with us. That’s all I’ll say for now. You just have to listen to Divide and find out for yourself!
Don’t Sit Down: Planned Parenthood Benefit Concert
On March 4th, Best Coast hosted Don’t Sit Down, a Planned Parenthood benefit concert, at the El Rey Theatre in LA. All proceeds went to Planned Parenthood and fortunately, my friend got us tickets. We got to see awesome bands fronted by women such as MUNA, Veruca Salt, Grouplove, and of course, Best Coast. Seeing all these performers get together to support Planned Parenthood was so inspiring. If you want a more in-depth recollection of the night, check out my article over at On the Edge. And if you’d like, you can make a donation to Planned Parenthood so they can continue providing accessible resources and services.
Whenever I get my nails done, I usually go for nude or neutral colors but Lina, my friend who did my nails, talked me into trying holographic nails. Gel polish usually lasts two weeks on me so I figured why not?! If I don’t like it, I could always change it. I only got holographic powder on my ring fingers so I wouldn’t overdo it. But when my nails were all dry, I loved the final product! It’s still simple but has a subtle wow factor. I would definitely do holographic nails again. Shout out to Lina for the great job!
Lush Cosmetics Rosy Cheeks Fresh Face Mask
I recently talked about the Rosy Cheeks Fresh Face Mask in my Lush Cosmetics Spring Mini-Haul and I have no shame in talking about it again. Why? Because it works well! Rosy Cheeks leaves my face feeling toned, brightened, and moisturized. I wake up with happier and healthier skin. What makes Rosy Cheeks even better is that it smells just like roses. If you’re looking for a new face mask to try, definitely pick up some Rosy Cheeks from your local Lush store.
Beauty and the Beast
There has been a lot of hype building up to this Disney remake and considering the other recent Disney remakes, I wasn’t too excited about Beauty and the Beast. But the film exceeded my (already low) expectations. Growing up, Beauty and the Beast was one of my favorite movies. While some people were disappointed the live action film was just a remake of the cartoon, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the two very minuscule scenes hinting at LeFou’s sexuality. Some might’ve seen it as offensive but I saw it as a little progress for Disney. And who knew Emma Watson could sing?! I’m ready for the next Disney live action adaptation.
