Ed Sheeran – Divide

Ed Sheeran - Divide
(via Express)

I know I recently listed Ed Sheeran in my January 2017 favorites but ever since his album dropped earlier this month, I’ve had it on repeat. Divide is different than his other albums. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. One song makes you happy and want to dance. The next song will move you to tears. And then the song after that will bring your mood back up. Divide is absolutely brilliant. I feel like Ed shows us more of where he came from and shares his family and life experiences with us. That’s all I’ll say for now. You just have to listen to Divide and find out for yourself!

Don’t Sit Down: Planned Parenthood Benefit Concert

March 2017 Favorites // Don't Sit Down: Planned Parenthood Benefit Show

On March 4th, Best Coast hosted Don’t Sit Down, a Planned Parenthood benefit concert, at the El Rey Theatre in LA. All proceeds went to Planned Parenthood and fortunately, my friend got us tickets. We got to see awesome bands fronted by women such as MUNA, Veruca Salt, Grouplove, and of course, Best Coast. Seeing all these performers get together to support Planned Parenthood was so inspiring. If you want a more in-depth recollection of the night, check out my article over at On the Edge. And if you’d like, you can make a donation to Planned Parenthood so they can continue providing accessible resources and services.

Holographic Nails

March 2017 Favorites // Holographic Nails

Whenever I get my nails done, I usually go for nude or neutral colors but Lina, my friend who did my nails, talked me into trying holographic nails. Gel polish usually lasts two weeks on me so I figured why not?! If I don’t like it, I could always change it. I only got holographic powder on my ring fingers so I wouldn’t overdo it. But when my nails were all dry, I loved the final product! It’s still simple but has a subtle wow factor. I would definitely do holographic nails again. Shout out to Lina for the great job!

Lush Cosmetics Rosy Cheeks Fresh Face Mask

Lush Cosmetics Spring Mini-Haul // Rosy Cheeks fresh face mask

I recently talked about the Rosy Cheeks Fresh Face Mask in my Lush Cosmetics Spring Mini-Haul and I have no shame in talking about it again. Why? Because it works well! Rosy Cheeks leaves my face feeling toned, brightened, and moisturized. I wake up with happier and healthier skin. What makes Rosy Cheeks even better is that it smells just like roses. If you’re looking for a new face mask to try, definitely pick up some Rosy Cheeks from your local Lush store.

Beauty and the Beast

(via Dark Horizons)

There has been a lot of hype building up to this Disney remake and considering the other recent Disney remakes, I wasn’t too excited about Beauty and the Beast. But the film exceeded my (already low) expectations. Growing up, Beauty and the Beast was one of my favorite movies. While some people were disappointed the live action film was just a remake of the cartoon, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the two very minuscule scenes hinting at LeFou’s sexuality. Some might’ve seen it as offensive but I saw it as a little progress for Disney. And who knew Emma Watson could sing?! I’m ready for the next Disney live action adaptation.

  1. I haven’t seen Beauty and the Beast yet, but everyone has been raving about it! I can definitely see why, and already know that it’s going to be good! My current favorites for March have been my MAC Studio Fix Plus Powder, my IT Cosmetics Confidence Cream, among other products!

      1. It’s a really nice powder! I used it with a really hard/dense brush and initially didn’t like how powdery it made me look. But I invested in my UD brush which is super soft and makes blending powders a dream and now love my MAC powder. It’s my ride or die powder! If you’ve already been shade matched at MAC then for powders I’d suggest going a shade above because powders come off lighter! I wear a NC 20 foundation but a NC25 powder. And no problem! I really enjoyed this post! Have a great rest of your week!

      2. Ohhh perfect, we’re similar shades!! I’m NC 25 but probably NC 20 now because I haven’t seen any sun lately 😂 but thanks for the tips on which brushes to use. I really need to invest in some nicer quality brushes. I still use my VERY first brush set I got from Costco many years ago.

      3. I’m NC20 year round, since I live in Chicago and I always use SPF! I use NC25 for powder and it’s perfect. I don’t use a primer with it but just moisturize beforehand and it lasts! I bought the UD optical blurring brush on sale at Sephora for like $12! There’s a few brushes on sale on their website! And there’s a few really nice ones on Amazon!

  2. That’s very awesome that group love was at the benefit concert!
And I’ll have to pick up that face mask when I go to lush. I’m trying to finish the one I have before I buy another one. 🙂

      1. Budget!! Since all the bills are the same, I estimate the amount that will go towards bills for the month, I found that I can give myself $20 a week for “allowance”. I could do more but I’m trying to save up as much as I can 🙂 that’s how I buy my stuff every month lol so I basically get $80 of spending money each month. Enough to splurge but I choose to save half of it for car parts and the rest for makeup lmao.

  3. I absolutely loooove what they implied on lefous (sp?) sexuality. Its very progressive and its something people should start getting used to in my opinion. I should definitely give Ed Sheerans album a listen, everyone has been raving about it. Ive been listening to alot of ‘the 1975’ i suppose you can say thats my favorite for march. Great read doll, as always!
