Today’s post is going to be different than the standard beauty post. Since it’s Sunday, I like to take part in what I call “self-care Sunday.” I used to have Sundays off and I’d take the day to detach from social media, relax, and spend time with myself. Even though I work doubles on Sundays now, I still try to take some time at the end of the day to unwind and mentally prepare myself for the upcoming week. Since doing so, I’ve learned a lot about myself and have gained knowledge of mindfulness, karma, and the Law of Attraction. There is so much negativity in the world, I thought I’d share some of my recent experiences and lessons with all of you.
On Mindfulness, Karma, and the Law of Attraction
Mindfulness is the act of being aware of the present and accepting your current situation, no matter your thoughts or feelings. Whether things are going good or bad, you are aware of what’s going on around you. You accept the things you cannot change or control. During unsettling times, I allow myself to feel anxious or upset but I do not let myself dwell in that situation. Instead, I take it as a learning experience. I try to figure out why I felt that way and how it can be prevented next time.
They say what comes around, goes around. Your actions decide your consequences. Do good and good will come to you. Do bad and bad will come to you. Until recently, I wasn’t sure if karma really existed or not. But the other day, I was confronted with negative words on social media. I could have reacted by picking a petty fight. Sure, I was livid but I decided not to act on my emotions. I didn’t do anything. My main concern was staying calm and not overreacting. And in less than 24 hours, karma worked out in my favor and I was able to experience it through my timeline. I decided not to feed into someone’s negativity because it would be a waste of time. And just like that, karma proved to me that she is real and will work out in my favor if I stay calm and positive.
The Law of Attraction
The Law of Attraction is similar to the concept of karma but emphasizes the idea that “like attracts like.” Positive thoughts attract positive experiences into your life whereas negative thoughts attract negative life experiences. Recently, I graduated from university and was in the process of applying to graduate schools. While waiting to receive admissions letters, I was constantly on edge and stressed out. But I tried to stay openminded and positive about it. If I don’t get into a Master’s program right away, there’s always another time. And if it doesn’t work out, it’s for a good reason. Just as I had expected, I didn’t get into any Master’s programs. But within the same month, four job opportunities came my way. And I accepted one of the job offers. If it weren’t for my positivity, open mind, and the people I know, I would not have gotten the job.
The universe works in strange ways but if you stay calm, positive, and mindful, things will always work out in your favor. You just need a little faith and patience.
Have you had any experiences with mindfulness, karma, or the Law of Attraction?
Let me know on the comments! I’d love to spread peace and positivity with others.
