April 2016 Favorites

April 2016 Favorites

Hi everyone, I can’t believe April is already over! This month seriously went by in the blink of an eye. But you know what means? It’s time for my April 2016 favorites! Let’s take a look, shall we?

Olympus OM-D EM5

Olympus OM-D EM5

I recently graduated in December and as a congratulatory gift, my uncle got me a new camera. My first camera was a Canon and I still use my Nikon but I felt like it was time to try something new. My uncle, who’s also into photography, suggested the Olympus OM-D EM5. It’s a hybrid camera and the lens is changeable. Plus, the body is weatherproof!! I’ve been playing around with the camera and it’s a huge upgrade from my Nikon. The photo quality is so incredible, I can’t wait to take the camera around with me.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater

Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray

After eyeing Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater for the longest time, I finally went out and got it. Let me tell you, it was the best decision I’ve made in awhile. It smells just like roses and it refreshes your skin throughout the day. Did I forget to mention that it’s only $7 for 4 fl. oz.?! It can’t get any better than that. I loved it so much, I wrote a product review about it.

Murad Acne Spot Fast Fix

Murad Acne Spot Fast Fix

I’ve always struggled with acne and it usually worsens when I stress out or it’s about that time of the month. Of course, I’ve tried diets and different acne spot treatments but my breakouts always come back. Awhile ago, my coworker recommended me Murad’s Acne Spot Fast Fix and I finally got around to trying it. I usually use 10% benzoyl peroxide and although this one is 3.5% benzoyl peroxide, it’s just as potent. I apply it at night and when I wake up the next day, my acne spots have visibly gotten smaller and my skin looks clearer. Plus, it doesn’t dry out my face like 10% benzoyl peroxide does! For awhile, I was feeling really self-conscious about my skin but I’m slowly gaining my confidence back because of this product.

Lemonade by Beyoncé

Lemonade by Beyoncé

Queen Bey is back at it again! It’s incredible how she released Ivy Park and just a few days later, surprised us with another visual album. I know, I sound like any other girl who worships Beyoncé but can you blame us?! I can’t help but feel so empowered whenever I listen to her tunes. “Formation” still gets me pumped. “6 Inch” is my new anthem and I want to dedicate “Sorry” to all the guys who were once part of my life but keep trying to come back into it. “Middle fingers up, put them hands high. Wave it in his face, tell him, ‘Boy, bye.’

Color Me Rad 5K

Color Me Rad 5K

My sister and I recently participated in the Color Me Rad 5K Color Race for a friend’s birthday. Initially, I dreaded the thought of running 3.1 miles while getting powdered and dirty. I watched trailers on the Color Me Rad website and thought I would be drenched in different colored powder, gel, and slime. But it actually wasn’t that bad! I’ve been going to the gym so it didn’t even feel like a long run. Plus, the weather was perfect for running and being in a group of girls helped motivate me. A few days after the 5K, my calves were super sore and I still found color in my ears! But Color Me Rad was super fun and I would definitely want to do it again.

What were some of your April favorites? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Oh no, did you get any color on the bus seat? I left wet wipes and a change of clothes in my car so I didn’t get that messy hehe. But it was definitely lots of fun!

  1. I ordered the Mario Badescu and now I think I need to try the Murad’s Acne Spot Fast Fix. I can’t believe you used 10% benzoyl peroxide! Even 5% burns my face. I love getting recs from REAL people who aren’t being paid to promote products. 😀

    1. Unfortunately, I’ve been dealing with acne for over 10 years now. I think my skin is already used to the 10% benzoyl peroxide but it does dry my face so I went for a lower dose.

Awww your last sentence literally just made my day!! I’m just a girl who likes to share great products with other people who might appreciate it 🙂
