A couple weeks ago, Ulta had an additional 20% off sale on all Real Techniques products. I absolutely love their brushes and of course, I wanted to expand my collection at a discounted price. Along with some brushes, I purchased the Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette.
According to the website and packaging, the “brush cleansing palette helps sweep away makeup, oil, and impurities from bristles to give you truer, more consistent color application.”
As a beauty blogger, I hate to admit this but I’m very bad at regularly cleaning my brushes. I just get so lazy and forget to clean them. It’s probably one of the reasons why I break out and I figured this palette would encourage me to clean my brushes more often.
- Performance-grade silicone: lightweight and ergonomically designed to fit comfortably over your hand
- Exclusive multi-textured surfaces: designed to gently work between the bristles for enhanced deep cleansing
The small dots are for small brushes. The middle section of the palette with x’s is for medium brushes, and the larger dots are for larger brushes. Easy enough to remember when cleaning my brushes!
- All synthetic materials that are easy to clean, and 100% cruelty-free
- Heat Resistant
- Dishwasher safe
I have not tried cleaning the palette in the dishwasher and the weather isn’t warm enough to tell if it’s heat resistant. Regardless, I’m not too worried about the palette getting warped or messing up.
How to Use
Step 1: Slip hand into the palette and squeeze a dime size amount of our deep cleansing gel onto the tool. Add warm water to the palette.
Step 2: Swirl brush into the gel and water across the various surfaces until the brush is clean. Rinse bristles thoroughly, being careful to not fully immerse the base of the bristles. Squeeze out the excess water.
Step 3: Rest your brushes across the surface of the tool to dry or use the panoramic case from our sets (sold separately) to dry brushes upside down.
I think the Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette is awesome! The different textures on the palette definitely helps you deep cleanse your brushes. There’s something grossly satisfying about swirling my brushes around the palette and seeing all of the old makeup products and colors come out of the bristles. My only advice is to not try to clean your sponges or beauty blenders with the palette, which is made specifically for brushes. I tried to clean my sponge without even thinking about the palette tore it up.
All in all, I’m very satisfied with this product. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and now that I have this product, I will try to clean my brushes more often.
